About Our Lady of Angelus Catholic Elementary School

Our Lady of Angelus Elementary School, located in Zleh Town, Grand Gedeh County, was founded in 1975 by Rev. Fr. John Finney. The school was initially managed by Mr. James Wahblo, its first principal, with significant support from the SNND sisters who also assisted in schools in Zwedru. Their collaboration ensured the school's successful operation for many years.

However, the outbreak of the Liberian civil crisis in 1990 resulted in significant damage to the school, leading to its closure. In 1999, the school was re-established under the leadership of Mr. Daniel Borkay as principal. Unfortunately, this revival was short-lived as the school's operations were once again halted when MODEL forces entered Grand Gedeh County.

In 2004, the school reopened with a modest enrollment of 19 students, with Mr. Anderson G. Vorjolo taking on the role of principal. Under his leadership, the school has steadily grown. Mr. Anderson G. Vorjolo continues to serve as principal today, with Mr. Fred C. Jimmy as vice principal. The current enrollment stands at 182 students, comprising 85 boys and 97 girls.
