Mission Statement
The mission of St. Dominic Catholic Elementary & Junior High School is to provide quality Catholic education that promotes academic excellence, moral integrity, and spiritual growth, while nurturing students to become responsible citizens who contribute positively to their communities and society.
Vision Statement
Our vision is to be a leading Catholic educational institution that forms intellectually competent, morally upright, and spiritually grounded young leaders prepared to serve God, their communities, and the nation of Liberia.
History of the School
St. Dominic Catholic School was established in September 1986 as a semi-elementary institution, initially operating in a rented building to serve the educational needs of children within the community.
In 1990, the school was forced to close due to the outbreak of the civil crisis in Liberia. After several years of instability, the school was reopened in late 1995, restoring access to Catholic education for many families in the area.
However, after eight years of operation, the school again faced closure due to renewed civil unrest in Liberia, often referred to as “World War III.” As a result, the institution remained closed from 2003 to 2012.
In 2012, St. Dominic Catholic School was reopened for the third time, marking an important step toward rebuilding educational opportunities in the community. Since then, the school has continued to operate successfully and expand its services.
Today, St. Dominic Catholic School has grown into a fully functioning Junior High School, offering programs from Nursery through Grade 9 and continuing its mission of providing holistic Catholic education.
