St. Martin Catholic High School was founded in 1932 by the Society of African Missions (SMA) missionaries. Located on the Catholic Mission compound in Gbarnga, the school was established to provide accessible and quality education rooted in Catholic values.
Since its establishment, the school has been administered by both religious congregations and lay educators under the authority of the Catholic Diocese of Gbarnga.
During the height of the Liberian civil war, the school temporarily relocated to Ivory Coast for safety. After the war ended and peace was restored in Liberia, the institution returned to its original location in Gbarnga, where it continues its mission of providing education and moral formation.
