The journey of the National Catholic Education Secretariat (NACES) 3rd Annual Gathering for 2025 continued today with a powerful blend of spiritual reflection and hands-on engagement. Delegates moved beyond the conference room to witness firsthand the impact of Catholic education in Nimba County.

A Morning Rooted in Faith

The day began with a solemn celebration of the Holy Mass at the St. Paul’s Seminary chapel in Gbarnga. This moment of prayer provided the spiritual grounding necessary for the day's mission, as participants gathered to seek God's guidance for the future of Liberian students.

Field Visits: Sanniquellie and Yekepa

Following the Mass, the delegation traveled to visit two of our cornerstone institutions:

  • St. Mary’s Catholic High School (Sanniquellie): Delegates toured the campus and engaged with the vibrant student body.

  • Bishop Carroll Catholic High School (Yekepa): The visit continued further north, observing the academic environment and facilities in Yekepa.

During these visits, NACES officials—identifiable by their official vests—spent time inside the classrooms. They observed "Marking Period Tests" and spoke directly with students, who were dressed in their green and white uniforms, about their educational journey.

Moments of Fellowship and Community

The trip also included a stop at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sanniquellie City, where delegates met with some of the youngest members of our community.

To recharge for the work ahead, the team took a lunch break at the Nimba Ecolodge, nestled in the picturesque mountains of Yekepa. This provided a vital space for informal exchange and reflection on the observations made throughout the morning.

"All has been very well... Thanks be to God for everything." — Father P. Sumo-Varfee Molubah

As we head into the final days of this 3rd Annual Gathering, we remain committed to the theme of "Strengthening Catholic Education for Excellence and Sustainability". We ask for your continued prayers for all our participants and the families they represent.

God’s abundant blessings be upon you all.
